OUR PRACTICE SUPPORT
For over 60 years, Maxim Street Health Hub has supported a team of independent healthcare professionals. Doctors practising at Maxim Street are proud to continue a tradition of providing the highest standard of healthcare for you and your family.
Each doctors runs their own individual practice from the comfort of our modern and purpose-built facility. We are proud to partner and support them on delivering the highest standard of medical care. We provide administrative support, practice infrastructure and equipment to allow doctors at Maxim Street to deliver the highest standard of care.
The doctors at Maxim Street offer a variety of services including preventative care, immunisations, women's health, children's health, travel medicine and skin checks. We have other independent tenants including Australian Hearing and Laverty Pathology co-located on the premises for your convenience.
We are conveniently located just a few minutes' walk from West Ryde train station, with plenty of street parking.
Our practice is open 6 days a week.
Communication Policy
In general, the doctors located at Maxim Street do not accept requests over the telephone for prescriptions, referrals and results for pathology or imaging. It is recommended that you return to your GP to receive these. We not do accept any requests for clinical information or appointments via email unless pre-arranged with reception.
The doctors believe that it is better for your care that management of your health is provided in person, where your condition can be assessed and examined properly.
Walk-Ins
Doctors at Maxim Street accept walk-in appointments on a case by case basis and subject to their availability. For any emergencies, head to your nearest hospital emergency department.
Management of Patient Information
Your information is collected and used in accordance with our privacy policy. A copy is available here.
Process of Follow-up Results
Our practice operates a recall and reminder system for results and preventative services. Please inform your doctor if you wish to be part of our system. If you have provided us with your mobile phone number, SMS recalls are sent for non-urgent appointments and normal results.
Missed Appointment/Cancellation Policy
The doctors want to offer patients as many appointment options as possible. You may call to cancel your appointment up to 1 hour to the appointment time. However non-attendance to an appointment (without prior notice of cancellation) may incur a fee (currently $40.00).
After-Hours & Emergency Care
If you require urgent medical attention outside of practice hours please ring 000 and choose option “ambulance”. Alternatively, the nearest emergency department is Ryde Hospital (Denistone Rd, Eastwood 2122 Phone 9874 0199). If you require a home visit after hours, our practice is registered with the Sydney Medical Co-operative Service, who are available 8724 6300. Please inform them you are a patient of our practice.
Home Visits
Doctors working at Maxim Street offer home visits on a case-by-case basis to existing patients living within 3-5kms of the practice. All home visits are privately billed and at the discretion of each individual doctor.
Feedback and/or Complaints
We are always open to feedback from you about our service. We are always looking to improve our practice. You may speak with any doctor, receptionist or the practice manager. You may also contact the Health Care Complaints Commission on 1800 043 159.
